The vastness of space is astounding. Aerospace Cadets will learn to explore our solar system, build a Mars colony, train as an astronaut and pilot a space shuttle. Campers get to 3D print, build electronics, use the flight simulator and engineer a space station in our Lab of Discovery.

Ages 6-14: One week camp from Aug 11 – 15

Explore and learn the fundamentals of construction design while you build a model architectural wonder! Create your marvel with different materials and bring it to life during the week. Whether you chose an older, contemporary or modern architectural design, campers will enjoy creating and building during this fun hands on experience.

Students will be learning about electronics and building projects with this hands-on summer camp. Learn the magic of electricity and the wonders of electronic components. This fun class will challenge students with building, soldering and testing in our Lab of Discovery. Participants will build and take home several electronic projects.

Ages 10-17: One week camp from Aug 26 – 29

Students will learn Computer Numerical Control with automated manufacturing using milling machines. Working with plastics and wood, students will make several projects of their own design using 3D design and several CNC machines. By adding special effects students will take home various cool projects.

Another one of our programming camps that builds challenging projects that interface to other devices. Students will learn to code C++ with Arduino and build projects interfacing to electronic sensors and other components. This is open to new students and will challenge the more advanced students.

This camp is for the more advance programmer that would like to build challenging projects that use Raspberry Pi. Learn advanced development and integration tools while working on cool projects. We will choose from several projects to task participants and keep them enthused.

Our Cosplay course was a great success last year. Students will learn our favorite tricks and techniques when building Cosplay costumes and accessories. Students will learn how to turn ordinary materials, inexpensive toys, easy-to-manipulate thermoplastics and other materials into costumes. Learn cool hair and makeup effects to complete your look. Halloween is just a short time away. Build and take home your cosplay projects

Reach for the sky. Learn all about quadcopters, airplanes and other aircraft along with their structures, electronics and designs. Over the week Campers will build their own project and learn to fly in our Discovery Lab. Activities will include demonstrations, building and competitions!

This camp is a beginner level film making class. Using either a DSLR camera or an iPhone, participants will get instruction in photography, lighting, sound, staging, and editing. Learn to make videos and start sharing on social media platforms. Discover your creative side with experimental filming and editing techniques. Exciting daily projects will build your confidence and get you noticed.  NOTE: Participants are required to bring their own DSLR camera or iPhone to the camp. We have a couple  of extra cameras if needed so please let us know if you require a camera for the week by including this information on your registration form.

This summer camp is an innovative beginner’s introduction to programming and game creation that transforms the complex language of text-based coding into visual, drag-and-drop building blocks. The simple graphical interface grants even an inexperienced novice the ability to create a basic, fully functional game. This easy to use development platform will allow students to develop their own game. Advanced campers will learn to build assets, interface to a mobile device and learn higher level programming.

Ages 6-12: One week camp from Jul 21-25
Ages 10-17: One week camp from Aug 18-22

This camp has some amazing projects and shows students how to build kinetic machines where engineering and art meet to produce such wonderful works. Using different materials and construction techniques, students will learn to engineer several kinetic machines.

Students will build projects from the Marvel and DC movies as we pay tribute to movie magic. From shields to sceptres, we will have fun constructing the best of the Marvel and DC movie characters. Campers will choose from different projects to build and let their imaginations grow.

Learn how to metalwork with different materials including aluminum, steel, brass and copper. Students will build projects and learn to cut, solder, weld and cast metal. Course includes use and safety training with hand tools and power tools. Spare pieces of aluminum would be appreciated for casting.

Learn all about RC Cars, from the chassis to the motor, campers learn every aspect of their radio controlled car in this hands-on workshop. Once the build is complete, the race is on! Campers race their RC Cars on on a fun and competitive course designed by our students. Learn to maintain and modify your RC Car.

Ages 8-14: Four day camp from August 5 – August 8

For youth, learning to build their own remote controlled robot can be the perfect engineering experience! Campers will learn how to put together their own creations in our Discovery Lab. This camp will teach students the finer points to designing, building and programming there own robot. This educational and interactive camp is perfect for builders!

Join our new Space Program. The most exciting day for anyone who wants to travel into space is the day they are selected to join the space program. It can take up to two years of training to become a fully qualified scientist, engineer or astronaut. Candidates must learn the science and engineering of working in space, in a spacecraft or space station, and on other planets.

This camp is perfect for youth who are seeking more experience and knowledge with the space program. During the week participants will experience

• off-world living conditions
• train like an astronaut; indoor sky diving, SCUBA diving, plane flight
• flight training with missions to the space station
• build Mars rover in our engineering room
• run off world scientific experiments in our science room
• command the mission control centre
• rover and drone missions
• build and launch rockets
• learn about electronics, astronomy, navigation and spacecraft design
• and more.

Astronauts In Training will build and take home a rocket. It includes rocket launching that will be coordinated with Roots 2 STEM/Calgary Rocketry. Price also includes trips to off-campus training facilities.
